The 11th Annual Pooch Parade,
Dog Walk & Pet Expo at the San Buenaventura State Beach Park
in Ventura from 9am to 4pm. Following the dog walk, families will
enjoy a lunch, pet demonstrations, pet contests, and adoptions with
many area rescue groups, plus a Silent Auction with over 200 items
and over 40 pet related vendor products. Proceeds from auction will
benefit the homeless dogs in the Canine Adoption & Rescue League’s
Sanctuary & the Project Second Chance Adoption Program.

Monday, August 4th
The
Ventura Area Squad Club announces its third
annual charity golf tournament happening on Monday, August 4, 2008,
at the Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo. Proceeds from our
tournament will benefit the CAHP Widow's and Orphan's Fund and Anacapa
Middle School in Ventura. The cost of playing in the tournament is
$150 dollars and will include a round of golf with cart and range
facilities, a tri-tip/chicken buffet awards luncheon, and entrance
into the Jet Blue Challenge for a chance to win $50,000 in cash. Also
included is a chance to win a hole-in-one prize of a two year lease
on a new 2008 BMW, donated by Steve Thomas BMW.
We will also be holding a raffle, emceed by 95.1's own Bo Jackson,
with a chance to win a five day cruise to either the Bahamas or
the Mexican Riviera. Our sponsors include Steve Thomas BMW, Sierra
Towing, Platinum Towing, Cumulus Broadcasting, and Pyne, Waltrip,
Decker & McCoy CPA's. Payment can be made by either Check, Money
